FinCon Mania is a high-energy finance–consulting crossover event designed to simulate real-world market volatility and strategic decision-making under pressure. The event blends a live stock market trading floor simulation with a consulting-style strategic treasure hunt, testing participants’ analytical ability, teamwork, and leadership skills.

 

Event Format:

• Mode: Offline

• Venue: SOIL School of Business Design

• Total Duration: 2 Hours

• Team Size: 3-5 members per team

Event Structure & Process:

Round 1: Trading Floor Chaos (60 minutes)

• Teams participate in a live, open-outcry-style stock market simulation.

• Participants trade fictional stocks based on:

  • News flashes

  • Market rumours

  • Sudden economic and corporate events

• Stock prices fluctuate dynamically to replicate real market volatility.

 

Evaluation Criteria:

Portfolio performance, decision-making speed, risk assessment, and team coordination.

 

Qualification:

Top-performing teams advance to Round 2.

 

Round 2: Strategic Treasure Hunt (45 minutes)

• Qualified teams solve finance- and consulting-based clues.

• Each clue requires:

  • Financial interpretation

  • Logical reasoning

  • Strategic sequencing

• Teams move across designated checkpoints within the venue.

 

Evaluation Criteria:

Accuracy, strategic thinking, collaboration, and time management.

 

Eligibility:

• Open to college students

• Team participation is mandatory

• All team members must be present throughout the event in order to get the opportunity approved. 

Rules & Guidelines:

• Teams must adhere strictly to event timelines.

• Fair play and ethical conduct are mandatory.

• Any form of malpractice will lead to disqualification.

• The organising committee’s decision will be final and binding.
