About Change Catalyst Hackathon

The Catalyst Hackathon is a chance to hone Design Thinking skills and make a real-world impact. This competition isn't just about solving a case study; it's about immersing yourself in the world of an NGO and developing innovative solutions to their pressing challenges.

Think like a social entrepreneur. The Catalyst Hackathon will challenge you to empathize with the needs of the organization and its beneficiaries, ideate creative solutions, and prototype ideas within a dynamic and collaborative environment. Participants delve into hands-on experiences, refining strategic decision-making and problem-solving skills. This challenge operates as a workshop, enhancing teamwork and collaboration to mirror the interdisciplinary approach of Design Thinking.

This immersive challenge goes beyond competition. It's a gateway to honing Design Thinking skills, fostering teamwork and collaboration, and equipping you to become a catalyst for positive change in your community and beyond

Event Details & Structure

  • Cash Prizes:
    a. Winners – ₹20,000
    b. Runner-up – ₹10,000
    c. 2nd Runner-up – Gift Hamper

  • Team Composition:

    • The competition is open for teams comprising 4-6 members.

    • Inter-college and intra-college teams are allowed.

  • Participant Registration:
    All participants must be registered for the event.

  • Online Quiz Round:

    • The round of online quiz will consist of both subjective and objective questions and answers.

    • The online quiz round serves as an elimination round.

  • Online Quiz Date:
    The online quiz competition will be held on 15th March 2024.

  • Case Competition Details:

    • The problem statement for the case competition will be shared on 18th March 2024 for the qualifiers of Round 1 (Online Quiz).

    • The case competition round will include students solving a case study and presenting it to the judges on the event day (On campus).

    • Each team will have 10-15 minutes to present their solution, followed by a question and answer session.

    • The use of visual aids, such as PowerPoint presentations, is allowed.

  • Judging Panel:
    The winners of the case competition will be judged by dignitaries from, Coca-Cola, and VGL Groups.
